Almost anytime Tiny was on screen during "T.I. & Tiny: Family Hustle," you knew something hilariously quotable was probably going to come out of her mouth.

The Federal Investigation Into Trayvon Martin's Murder Is Bound To Fail.

Uncle Luke, the man whose booty-shaking madness once made the U.S. Supreme Court stand up for free speech, gets as nasty as he wants to be for Miami New Times. This week, Luke scoffs at the Justice Department's investigation into the death of Trayvon Martin.

Ever since I heard the 911 tapes of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin screaming for help before he was shot dead, I haven't been able to get the boy's cries out of my mind. His murder at the hands of self-proclaimed watchdog George Zimmerman has caught the attention of the national media and the NAACP.

Last week, many breathed a sigh of relief when the U.S. Department of Justice announced it would investigate the teen's death. Even African-American Congresswoman Frederica Wilson applauded the feds for getting involved.

I'm not counting on the DOJ. The feds just jump in to keep everybody calm and from rioting in the streets. In fact, they've failed in several high-profile civil rights cases.

Ten years ago, the feds conducted a civil rights probe into the City of Miami Police Department after five officers were criminally indicted in the coverup of their unjustified shooting of a 73-year-old suspect. In 2003, after an eight-month inquiry, the Justice Department concluded it could not prove that Miami Police Department policies resulted in civil rights violations -- even though there were serious flaws in the way officers conducted searches and seizures and used their firearms and police dogs against African-American suspects. Nothing has changed.

Last year, the feds announced a new investigation into the Miami PD, this time for police-involved shootings of seven African-American men in Overtown and Liberty City during the reign of former chief Miguel Exposito.

In 2010, the Justice Department decided not to criminally charge any of the eight Bay County, Florida boot camp prison guards and employees involved in the beating death of 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson. Despite analyzing a "NASA-enhanced" video of the teen's savage beatdown and interviews with more than 40 witnesses, the DOJ concluded it had insufficient evidence to prosecute anyone for willfully depriving Anderson of his constitutional right to be treated like a human being.

And this past December, the Justice Department concluded a three-year investigation into Arizona's Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, finding that the Phoenix-based police force repeatedly arrested Latinos illegally, abused them in county jails, and failed to investigate hundreds of sexual assaults. Yet the feds didn't file criminal charges against the force's controversial leader, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, or any of his subordinates.

Unfortunately for Trayvon's family, the Justice Department will fail in this case too.

B.o.B Talks "Strange Clouds," Working With Andre 3000.

B.o.B talks about his new album "Strange Clouds" and working with Andre 3000 on "Play the Guitar."

HardknockTV recently caught up with B.o.B out at SXSW to talk about his upcoming May 1 album Strange Clouds. The Atlanta rapper explained that he feels his long awaited second album is a more mature and sonically well-rounded project. Featuring production from Uncle Luke, Jim Jonsin and himself, B.o.B explained that the project will make up any qualms listeners may have had with his debut The Adventures of Bobby Ray.

"When I say more mature, I feel like it's more refined, it's more intent-full, it's more direct," he said. "I'm a pretty modest person by nature, man, I don't really like to toot my own horn, but it's pretty obvious that when you hear the album that it's better than the last album. I really put a lot of time into it. Tip's been very supportive, he's helped me out with a lot of the songs. I've produced a lot of songs with Dr. Luke, I've worked a lot with Jim Jonsin. I actually did a lot of the production myself on this album. I feel like what people wanted from the first album, they're getting that and better. It's just everything's hands-down [better]. There will be an like the first album just because it is the first album, but I'm giving myself a run for the money."

Bobby Ray also talked about recording "Play the Guitar" with Andre 3000 of Outkast. He explained that he has been trying to get 3 Stacks in the studio on numerous occasions, but that it wasn't until he heard the recently released single that he was ready to drop a verse.

"It's crazy 'cus I was actually trying to get Andre [3000] on…several songs [before 'Play the Guitar']," he said. "Andre is one of the those types of people where he really quizzes hard into it and if he's not feeling it, he's not gonna do it…"Play the Guitar" was one I felt was meant to happen, and he was even courteous to put in a guitar solo on the track, which you don't really see, period."

“It’s year five of the contest and I think what we’re starting to see is some of our planting is starting to bear fruit,” Scholl said.

Scholl points to the success of the Borscht Film Festival, a collective of Miami filmmakers, musicians, writers, actors and photographers, who used a $150,000 grant from the Challenge in 2010 to get its 12-minute short film, The Life and Freaky Times of Uncle Luke, into the Sundance Film Festival in January. The group also placed four shorts in the current South-by-Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, an unusual accomplishment, Scholl said. Among them: the Uncle Luke semi-fictional doc on Liberty City rapper Luther Campbell, I Am Your Grandma, Reinaldo Arenas, and Jacuzzi Boys: Glazin.

“That’s the kind of result that we hope will happen when you win the Knight Arts Challenge and take the best idea and implement it into the community,” Scholl said.

Bounties? In the NFL? Nah….

Maybe someone can tell me why I should be appalled that the New Orleans Saints (and apparently the Washington Redskins, although I can’t tell that it helped them) were offering bounties for taking out players or making big plays.

Uncle Luke and the University of Miami would be proud the NFL finally caught on.

Seriously, am I the only one who doesn’t believe this is a big deal?

Don’t get me wrong, trying to injure players on purpose is wrong. But I don’t think NFL players go into games trying “to take players out.” You can’t tell me guys who make millions of dollars are going bonkers trying to make $500 or $1,000. That’s pocket change for the majority of them.

The thing is, players go hard. The NFL is a physical sport and if players can get a good shot on an opponent, best believe it will be taken. But doing it for money? It goes against an unwritten code among competitors.

The NFL will make examples out of the Saints and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who has moved on to St. Louis. There will be fines, suspensions and maybe draft choices taken away from the parties. In today’s politically correct world, that is the cost.

Maybe I’m missing the big picture but it really seems overblown to me.

Luther Campbell Says Skip Bayless is The King of “Race Baiting”.

I don’t think Skip Bayless is a racist.

What I do think is Skip is a highly intelligent guy who in the immortal words of Ron Burgundy knows how to get the people going.

Times have change.

Years ago journalism was simply report the story and be buddy buddy with the athletes.  Controversial editorials were frowned upon.

ESPN changed everything.

To me it started when Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann started to call their Sportscenter telecast THE BIG SHOW.  From that point journalists saw the opportunity to become celebrities.

When Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser debuted PTI, journalists who had been limited to local papers saw they could become more than that.

The explosion of sports talk radio along with the rise of social media and sports blogs only added to it.

Skip is product of all of this.  He always was a bit of a sensationalist, but he never had that huge outlet to express it until First Take.   He used that outlet to his advantage and is now milking it for all it is worth.  It has lead to scathing reviews like this one from Uncle Luke.

I have to hand it to Skip Bayless. The 60-year-old ESPN commentator is the Rush Limbaugh of sports journalism. He has built a cottage industry playing the role of the angry white guy on the show First Take, in which he debates other sports journalists and ex-athletes, usually African-Americans, on racially charged topics. For instance, in January 2011, Bayless caused a ruckus when he applauded the fact that L.A. Clippers star Blake Griffin is half Anglo. “Yeah, I’ll be the first to admit on national TV that I take a little pride because he came from a white mother,” he said.

In fact, he has become one of the highest-paid sports columnists in the nation, as well as a recurring face on ESPN, where he dispenses his special brand of race baiting.

As sad as his commentary may be, Bayless represents the worldview of people just like him: middle-aged, middle-class white dudes who despise successful millionaire African-American athletes.

I don’t dislike Skip, because I recognize his hustle so to speak.

The reason they pair Skip with D-Level rappers and screamers like Stephen A. Smith is to make it more like WWE than a true sports debate.

Because true sports debates don’t bring in ratings, but WWE RAW is still the highest rated program on cable television.

I have a philosophy of not blaming the supplier, but the user.  Skip Bayless and ESPN is just your pusher, no one forces you to snort the BS.

ESPN won’t have independent sports bloggers on to debate Skip, because we aren’t actors and would expose Skip for who he actually is.

Because everyone knows Wrestling is fake…….right?
